Journey of Modern classical Music in Bollywood

Indian music industry is adopting new trends & Modern classical music is one of the key factors of the latest trends. In this post is about a story of how cultivation of Indian classical Music into Modern classical music.
Those were bygone era for the music industry when songs were composed on typical Indian classical music & Ragas. Maestros like Manna Dey, Mohammad Rafi, Shamshad Begum, etc. were the top singers in the era. But, Indian audience needed more versatile & different than typical Indian classical music. 

The time came when one of the legends of Indian music industry R.D. Burman had started westernized trend in Bollywood music. He used western musical equipment to produce various new tunes & ever green compositions. He was a trendsetter for blending Indian music with western technology.

Till 70s’ Indian music Industry was well versed with the latest sound engineering & technology of that time. But, Synthesizers were not so popular among Indian music composers. Bappi Lahiri was inspired by the foreign music & first time in Indian music history he synthesized Disco music.
The Disco music became widely accepted. This was a turning point for Bollywood music. After this Indian songs were popular in foreign countries also. Indian singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Bappi Lahiri, etc. went globally to work with foreign composers & music directors. Revolution had already begun.
Singers like Kishor Kumar, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam acclimatized themselves to add more versatility in their singing.Experiments in Indian music industry are at peak now. Music composers such as Shankar Mahadevan, A. R. Rehman, etc. are doing playback singing on their own compositions.
